Stanton Promoted!
Erik Stanton has been promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer at Cornerstone Community Bank. He has been with the bank for 13 years, serving as a lender before moving into the operations side of the bank. Stanton is a Cedarburg resident and father of six. His primary responsibilities are his CFO duties, which include the areas of accounting, asset/liability management, budgeting, liquidity management, bank investments, and tax planning. Additionally, he oversees human resources, information technology, compliance, loan processing and security. Stanton worked 11 years with the FDIC prior to joining the bank.
Stanton has seen the bank grow during his tenure. The $53 million bank with 19 employees he joined in 1998 has grown into the $125 million bank with 31 employees it is today with the help of his efforts. He helped steer the bank through Y2K, 9/11, the real estate boom of the 2000s, the Great Recession and the subsequent banking crises.
Paul Foy, president of Cornerstone Community Bank, stated, “We are grateful to have Erik on the team. He has been a tremendous confidant and calming force through some of the most turbulent times the banking industry has seen.”
Stanton said, “Joining Cornerstone has been one of the best decisions of my life. I am grateful for the Board’s trust in me and look forward to working with Paul and the Cornerstone team to continue our mission as a community bank.”
